We are 2nd and 3rd graders from New Century School in Verona, WI. Like WPR and WPT, our school building is also turning 100 this year! We have been doing some research about the early days of the school.
In an old teacher’s record book (pictured above) we learned that during the 1938-39 school year, students at our school used the radio to learn. On Tuesdays they listened to a program called “Nature Tales.” On Wednesdays they listened to “Social Studies.” And on Fridays they listened to “Rhythms.” We would like to learn more about those shows!
