1979 - A Folksy Offering

Drawing on several prior folk offerings, Simply Folk began in January 1979, the brainchild of producer Tom Martin-Erickson and producer Becca Pulliam. At its peak, Simply Folk was on Saturday and Sunday evenings; over the years the program has recorded and aired hundreds of live folk performances from venues across the Midwest.

“Wisconsin,” the closing theme of North Country Notebook, a show hosted by George “Papa Hambone” Vukelich, is one of the most requested selections on the Simply Folk program.
