I grew up with my father having the “State Station” on every weekday morning. I remember best the Weather Roundup, when engineers from each location would give the weather. After many mornings quizzing my father to the locations (Where is Highland? Where is Delafield?), he finally pulled out a Wisconsin map. When each report came in, I would locate on the map where it was coming from. This is how I learned Wisconsin and how to read a map.
I always had that hometown pride when I would hear the engineer from “high on top of Rib Mountain.”
