1990 - To the Best of Our Knowledge Launches

WPR’s To the Best of Our Knowledge was first heard on air in 1990, at the time of The Ideas Network launch statewide. The program, which was produced by Anne Strainchamps and Steve Paulson, was hosted and co-created by Jim Fleming. The founders, along with a team of engineers and producers, designed a program that explored big ideas – not just in the news – but beyond the news in science, the arts and culture, religion and more.

The program earned radio’s highest honor, the Peabody Award, in 2004. Currently hosted by Anne Strainchamps, the program continues to be heard on more than 200 stations nationally.
